Why Do They Bother?

The quotes they use for promoting films, why do they bother?
By default, they carefully select those quotes which are exactly the sort of quotes you see used for promoting films, so by default, they’ve made their film indistinguishable from any other film. So what does that achieve? more »

  • Well, the second express delivery arrived by 12.24 the following day. So now, I’ve got two of the bloody things. I initiate the return procedure at Amazon: I can’t use the Post office tomorrow because I’m waiting for another bloody delivery, so I select the second option of getting a courier company to collect it (Fortunately, it’s not the same courier company). On the Amazon page it said click here to schedule a delivery, of course, once I initiate the process I find there’s no scheduling option at all… more »

Why?!!

So this man walks into a pub, he orders a pint of Guinness. The publican proceeds to pour said pint, then stops, he takes the man’s money, puts it through the till, gives him his change and then goes off to do something else, while he leaves the pint to “settle”…

In due course, the publican returns, hastily filling the glass up and sloshing a load down the side, for no apparent reason. The publican then passes this purchase to the customer, who can only say “Err, … thanks?!!” whilst wiping his hand and looking askance at a seeming-sample of stirred-up river water. more »
