A Sort Of Retraction

Morrissey

So a month ago, I’d almost been put off the Antony & The Johnsons album by a full suite of useless reviews and I threw a few swipes at the early write-ups of what-was-then Morrissey‘s forthcoming album, as well as the album itself.

The trouble is, of course, that Morrissey represents the worst case scenario, the one artist above all others who seemingly justifies the journalistic delusion that you can review an album with a cursory glance at a lyric sheet. more »
