Shoes

I bought me a pair of shoes on eBay, I like ’em and they arrived quick and.. I’d had ’em ten days when I manage to lose one of ’em. How do you lose a shoe? I can only think that it must have wrapped itself inside somethin’ else which was subsequently binned, but I can’t actually see how that would have occurred. So I boot up the PC, head back to eBay, buy me another pair of the same shoes. Again, they arrive quick and actually they seem to fit better than the previous pair – which is a little odd as it goes – anyhow, I’ve had ’em two days and I’m walking along in the dark, along a stretch of pavement I’ve walked a thousand times, when I trip on something. From the pain afflicting my foot, I surmise it’s something rather solid and on further inspection (well, as much as the dark allows) it would appear to be a lump of metal concreted into the pavement. Actually, it turns out it used to be a signpost, but the signpost had been knocked down. And when I get back into the light, I learn that this unfortunately placed piece of metal has ripped right through my shoe. Actually, when I come to remove my shoe I learn that the aforementioned piece of metal has ripped right through my toe as well (you can get a lot of blood out of a toe sometimes, it seems!). Anyhow, the shoe’s sporting a large tear and is no longer fit to wear, but luckily I’ve got a spare and can still make a pair…

Yay, It’s Schnippit Time Again

I’ve stopped my dreaming,
I won’t do too much scheming

These days I sit on corner stones
And count the time in quarter tones to ten.
Please don’t confront me with my failures,
I had not forgotten them.

These Days

Stuff & Nonsense #925

Her Holiday With John McCain

If his attitudes toward women and his treatment of his own family are even a small indicator of his real personality, then I shudder to think what will happen to America were he to be elected as our President.

Incoherence

It’s the inference that is politely not being made, that is more worrying.
